Red Lips
Today, I thought I would do something different and show you a New Years Eve look you could try this Thursday. This is an evening party look so this is very make up heavy. I wanted to incorporate some glitter and a deep red lip for the occasion.

Face
I like to keep my face as natural looking as possible. By that I mean I want to feel comfortable and breathe in my skin. I applied a layer of my NARS Sheer Glow foundation in the shade Barcelona, along with my Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Coverage Concealer.

To add some warmth in to the skin, I used the NARS One Shocking Moment palette and used the shade Laguna.

Cheeks
The next thing I did was go in to the cheeks. I contoured my cheeks slightly with the shade Paloma II from the same NARS Steven Klein Palette. This is a beautiful contour shade if you have Olive or deep skin tones. It has a slightly grey tone to it which prevents you from looking muddy.

Adding some colour, I went to shade Dolce Vita. This is a nice plum shade which gives colour to the cheeks but gives a subtle lift to the cheeks. It is deep enough to balance the entire face out with the eyes and lips but subtle enough to not take over the look.

Finishing off the cheeks with one of my favourite parts of my make up and that is highlighting. I went in with the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecter in the shade Opal. It is my current obsession at the moment and this adds the right glow and shimmer to the cheeks. I also apply it to the bridge of my nose and the cupids bow.

Eyes
To go to the heart of the look I worked on my eyes. The first thing I did was my eyebrows. I filled them in with the Freedom Eyebrow Pomade in the shade Granite.

For the shadow I broke out an old favourite. My Stila in the light palette has some beautiful gold shades in. I first used the shade sunset which is deep bronze shade and took it up in to the crease to add depth. On the lids I patted on the shade bubbly in the inner corner and centre of the lids. This is a beautiful gold shade and my personal favourite form the palette.

As it is New Years Eve, I thought I would have some fun and add some glitter in the mix. I used the NYX Glitter Liner in Gold. I did not know what I was expecting when I applied this but for someone who does not wear a lot of glitter I fell in love with this and how it felt and looked on the lids. It provided wonderful colour payoff as well as longevity without irritating my eyes. I wore this for hours and did not feel itchy to take it off. (In fact I wanted to keep it on)

To finish off the look I lined my lids with my go to Supercat Liner by Soap and Glory. It is intense, black and easy to apply. You can use liquid liner if you prefer but I was personally happy to use this.

For the lashes, I needed drama so I got out my trusty Too Faced better than sex mascara.

Lips
A lip on New Years Eve needs to be two things, bold and long lasting. Bold because you need to have fun and long lasting because you will be eating, talking and drinking. This is a combination that will deliver both of these things. I first lined my lips with the Kiko Precision Lip Liner in the shade and then filled them in with the pencil. After this I went in with my NARS Lipstick in VIP Red. This is a nice deep matte red which compliments deep and pale skin tones alike.

This is a strong long lasting make up look which will hold up way past midnight and will see you through to January 1st.
