NARS is one make up brand that is always on my radar. I always make a trip to their counters to see what is new. Their christmas collection for the past two years has had me in awe and I have rarely been disappointed with the brand created my make up extrodinaire Francis Nars.
The NARS team in Manchester recently held a master class at the Selfridges in Exchange Square sharing their tips and tricks. This master class showed us how to create an evening and day look for the winter.
Romany talked us through the two looks while demonstrating on the model. Personally, for someone who loves make up but who is not a make up artist I took a lot away from the evening but I wanted to share with you some of the highlights.
Using a cream then a powder to contour
Romany showed us how to use the NARS Pure Radiant Creamy Concealer with the Casino bronzer to contour the face.
Experimenting with bright colours can work for everyday even in the winter
The model had the most colours on her lids. Romany made the look wearable while venturing with colours I would not normally lean towards.
Burnt Orange is the shade of the season
The model has a burnt orange shadow on her lids and I cannot tell you how incredibly stunning it is. Definitely the colour of the Autumn.
Always start your eye make up with the crease shadow
Talking about the eyes, we all talked about the different ways in which we apply shadow. Romany made it clear we should always start with a base shadow.
NARS do some wonderful highlighters
I love NARS. They have the most amazing products however one product I did not really look in are their highlighters but I was shown their powder highlighters and fell in love. The pigmentation and the shades are honestly drool worthy.
The masterclasses are open to the public and usually cost a redeemable £10 (which is usually easily done at a NARS counter) it includes a nice drink. The staff and absolutely friendly and it is a great place to get answers for all your make up woes.
