On my Birthday, I was surprised with this lovely palette from
Make up Revolution. MUR, Is one drugstore brand I have herd a lot about but delved little in. The stand at my Suprerdrug is very small so the selection is quite small, so I was looking forward to giving this a good try.
The
Run Boy Run palette is a neutral palette which has a mixture of matte and shimmer shade. The palette starts off with the softer shades on the left and the more right you go, you find some rich beautiful shades perfect for a smokey eye.
I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with the matte shades in this palette. The pigmentation and colour payoff was powerful and intense enough to use as a base shade for my eye looks. My favourite has to be the shade. It is a light brown so the colour of the shadows you want to show stay true to its form in the pan.
They are not pressed so there is some fall out in the palette but that does not translate on the face. A little tap of your brush before placing it on your lids usually does the trick. The longevity of the shadows rivals that of similar brands such as Sleek. I have worn this palette to work and found it to last till I got home.
One problem I do have with this palette is the pigmentation for some of the lighter shimmer shades in the palette. In the pan, they appear to have rich colour payoff. They look to be more on the shimmery side as opposed to the glitter end of shadows, yet I was let down with the little pigmentation they had. The darker shades work well and I especially fell in love with the deep copper shade called. I know I will make use of it.
It is a hit or miss palette for me. At just £6:00 it is good value for money. Not many drugstore palettes contain matte shades and the deeper shades mean you can practise your smokey eye without breaking the bank.
Have you tried anything from Make up Revolution? After falling in love with their
Flawless palette, (
