Review | Merumaya Melting Cleansing Balm

It is strange to think this time last year, I had never tried a cleansing balm, now I cannot think of taking off my make up with anything else.

The Merumaya Cleansing Balm caught my eye early last year and I knew it was something I wanted to try. As soon as my Clinique Take the day off cleansing balm was rearing its end, I placed an order with excitement only a skincare junkie could summon about a cleansing balm.

It is a thick liquid balm which I really like. I pour a very small amount in to my hands, lather it up and apply it to my face and remove it with water. It contains Sweet Almond Oil as well as Echium Seed Oil both of which are high in Fatty Acids and Omega 3 making it nourihsihing and great for your skin.

The formula is really gentle and not heavy so it is great of you have sensitive skin. I feel teenagers and adults could use this and be happy. There is a slight herbal scent to it, which is not very overpowering and to me is very comforting at the end of the day when I am taking my make up after a long day.

I have dehydrated skin and I find this does not dry my skin out and leaves it feeling soft and supple which my skin needs after a day in the winter cold.

Another plus point I have to mention has to be the packaging. Most cleansing balms are a thick balm like texture, therefore, they usually sit in a tub which can be hard to travel with and sometimes difficult to store. The Merumaya Cleansing Balm comes in a tube and you can stand it up on your shelf or pack it neatly if you are travelling. Plus points for that one Merumaya!

Speaking of the plus points, the reason I wanted to mention this as part of #budgetmonth is because it comes in at £15.50! Some of the most well known cleansing balms in the beauty world come in at £50 so this is a nice way to ease yourself in to the world of cleansing balms if you're on a budget or do not want to spend a lot on a cleansing balm.

At the moment, you can only purchase Merumaya in the UK, either online or John Lewis but I have been told they are looking to expand in the future so watch this space.

Lots of love
