Make Up Monday | What's on my face - The works do edition

This Friday was my works Christmas do and I decided to do something a little bit different with my make up and share it with you.

The base
I did nothing new with my base. I went in with my trusty NARS Tinted Moisturiser in the shade St Moritz. To give me a bit more of a flawless finish I used my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush to apply it nicely and evenly. I then went in with my go to concealer for under eyes, the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, which I am pretty sure is finishing. With it being friday, my eyes look the worse. The late nights, early mornings and just general tiredness means I relied heavily on this and it does me right every single time. Then to bronze up, I busted out the NARS Virtual Domination Palette.  I went in with the Laguna Bronzer to give my face some life.

The eyes
I wanted some bold gold action on the lids so I went pretty hard. I first used Maybelline Leather Effects Colour Tattoo in the shade creamy beige. It is the best matte base I have used. I then went in with two shades of gold. The first one was the shade Bubbly from the shade Stila in the Light Palette which is a nice deep gold and I couldn't resist using my favourite shade of Half Baked which is from the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette. Everytime I use this shade I fall in love with it all the time. To finish the look off I went in with the Essence Eyeliner Pen and then I coated my lashes with the Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes Mascara* This mascara really opens your lashes. I absolutely adore it. My only twinge is that I wish it was a little more black. Around this time I also fill in my eye brows. I will skip the details as I do the same thing in every post you read like this. I do this now because it helps with a bold lip.

Cheek and lips
Going back to my face I went back the NARS Palette and this time I used the blush in the shade Final Cut which is exclusive to the palette. It is a nice subtle coral shade. I don't like over doing blush and this is definitely the shade to help do that. Then to highlight seeing as I was going out I wanted some sparkle I used Miss liberty which is from the palette. If you can't do a bit of sparkle this time of year when can do. This is not a subtle highlight. It is quite out there but I like it. It doesn't cake up your face or look like you have a lot of make up on rather it just adds some sparkle. I also applied a little of the Mary Lou Manizer. This added the glowly aspect you look for.

For the lips, I really missed my purple lip shades. I haven't worn them for a while and wanted to bust it out in full force. I decided this was a nice time to do that. I wanted to use MACs Heroine as it is my absolute go to for a purple lip. It stays on during a meal and doesn't go everywhere which is what you want on a evening like this. I am actually missing a purple lip liner but I wanted to give my lips a base so I went in with the Revlon Matte Balm in the shade Shameless.  (FYI - It is a pretty good dupe for MAC's Heroine) And I then went in with Heroine. To add a little something extra I decided to try a tip Amelia Liana spoke about and applied some of the Mary Lou Manizer in the centre of my lips. I really liked the finish and think it did the look justice.

I had fun creating this look. As you have probably have noticed I do not normally get to be creative with make up but I felt like with this look I got to take my time getting ready and having fun playing around with some shades. Let me know what you think and if you have any go to looks this season.

Lots of love
