Winter comes being able to experiment with make up and that is exactly what I did this weekend. I decided to text out a dark shade from the
Revolution Flawless Palette. I ended up trying out this purple smokey eye look.
I first went in with the shade
Raw which is a nice Matte brown shade. Using the dual ended brush from the Naked Three palette. It is such a nice everyday that I plan to use more. I then went with the shade
Red Lights all over the lids. I chose this because it looked absolutely beautiful in the pan and it translate very well on the lids. You can build it up to a full on deep purple (which makes for a great smokey eye) or you can blend it out for a more lighter look. I wanted something in the middle so what I did was added the shade
Barely Pink to the middle of my lids to brighten things up and then used the shade
Highlite in to the inner corner. The reason is because I have quite small eyes and because I wear glasses I find that sometimes I need to work a bit harder to help my eyes stand out.
All the shadows blended well together not creasing or creating any fall out on the lids. I also went back in with towards the crease creating a bit more of smokey effect.
To end the look, I used the
Essence eyeliner waterproof pen* and their
Get Big Lashes Go Curl Mascara* both of which are an incredible combination that lasts all day.
I was really impressed with how much this worked. It is completely on trend at the moment as it is a slight alternative to the traditional smokey eye and would work very well with a nude brown lip.
