Now this post is not to tell you to wear make up at school. I went through my school life and college make up free but for those of you who want a little something to get through the day, here are some of my essentials that if I had my time again I may have added to my school bag.
For my base, I believe that less is more especially when you are young, you really don't need anything heavy duty. I would use something like a
Tinted Moisturiser as it is light and keeps your skin in good condition anything else will clog up your pores and as your skin is still finding it's way that is something you want to bare in mind.
In school you can't really get away with any heavy eye make up so I would just keep it to Mascara and Eye liner. My go to for natural days are the
Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara. I have a review of this coming up but it great at providing your lashes with volume and length without clumping up.
The eye liner of choice would be the
Essence Eyeliner Pen. It is cheap, easy for beginners to use and creates a precise thin line. You don't want a thick cat eye for school and this will do the job. I wrote all about Essence coming to the UK here but you can find a stand in most Wilko Stores and if you live in Manchester they have a massive stand in Arndale that is worth looking at.
As a lip lover there is not a chance I would be able to go lip free but seeing as lipstick for the most part is quite obvious (and probably not allowed in schools) what's a girl to do? Tinted lip balms such as the
Maybeline Baby Lips are ideal as they give your lips that slight tint as well as keeping them hydrating. Another option would be lip butter which give you a bit more pigmentation than your lip balm but still on the natural side.
And there you have it. Other things I would add would be a
medicated lip balm for when your lips get dry and a
hand cream as I can't live without both of these things nearby.
If you are going back to school next month good luck, work hard and enjoy it while it lasts.
