Review | Jouer Matte Moisture Tint

When my tube of Laura Mercier Oil Free tinted moisturiser finished I had two thoughts. One was don't forget to add it to the Empties bag and two was what the world was I going to replace it with. Now I know I could have just repurchased the same base and be done with it but I am a beauty blogger after all and love trying out new things. I remembered trying out a sample of the Jouer Luminizing tint a few months ago so decided that I would try out the matte version, grabbed my laptop, emailed the wonderful ladies at Cult Beauty to enquire what shade I would be and the rest was history.

The Jouer Matte Moisture tint is a matte light - medium coverage tinted moisturiser. I say medium because it completely get rids of any redness that you may have on your skin. I recently had some tiny tiny blood vessels appear under my eyes and found this helped reduce them from being in people's face.

I have the shade chamomile which is a shade I would suggest if you have an olive skin tone like me. The shade range caters for those who have fair skin to those with deeper skin tones.

The first thing I enjoy about the product is the formula, it is slightly thicker than most of it's liquid counter parts which means you actually use less of product as it spreads and blends very easily in to your skin. I have applied it using both my fingers and my Real Techniques buffing brush, both work really well a creating a nice even finish on the skin, however I found that if I dot tiny amounts on my face then blend with my brush I end up using less product with the same result as I would get with my fingers so I mainly use a brush. It is great for busy days as you don't need to wait too long to work it in to your skin.

If you're a dry skin girl, this probably is one I would give a miss as this is a matte formula and can cling on to dry patches. I have a little dry patch on my face which I can become quite self conscious about when wearing this, but for all other skin types I would definitely give this a try.

It is a great base to use in the summertime as it is very light weight and won't melt in the heat like some heavy duty foundations. It also contains the SPF 15, which is always useful to have in your base any time of the year but especially in the summer.

Outside of London, the only place you can purchase the Matte Moisture Tint is on the site Cult Beauty. It is one of my favourite places to buy beauty products online (something I rarely do) because I know if I have a query such as choosing the right shade (something which I did when buying the MMT) they are always willing to help any way they can. Warning: The site only contains the best of the best of beauty so there are some other  drool worthy Jouer products you may be tempted in by too.

Lots of love
