Summer generally means melting make up and sweaty faces, which for the most part, personally is fine. I just don't wear a lot of make up. The thing is with the warm weather comes more barbecues, garden parties and weddings.
So I thought I would share with you my top products which make sure your make up stays put. Some of these you would have seen in my summer essentials but there are some others in here too.
I wear a primer all year around (although I do change them up depending on my skin at the time) and the one I am using at the moment is by
Max Factor. I do plan to do a full review of this soon as I haven't tried a new primer for a while. There are many out there but I think this will work for most skin types as it sticks to your skin the way in which a sillicone primer does but applies the way you would a moisturiser or a hydrating primer. You don't need a lot and it just adds to making your foundation or tinted moisturiser look flawless.
An eye primer is also a must. I don't have exceptionally oily skin but a good primer makes me feel safe in knowing my eye shadow will not crease or sumdge throughout the day. MUA do one which I like for £1 but if you want something for oily lids the
Benefits stay don't stray primer works really well. I have a review on this coming up too but it is a great budget option if you don't want to spend too much on a primer.
I have now been converted in to a blush girl. Don't ask me how or why because I am not sure myself but I seem to have a small collection gathering up now. When it comes to blush I love a good cream formula and one perfect for this time of year is the
Max Factor Miracle Touch Creamy blush which is probably one of the long lasting cream blush formulas I own. I have two shades this one soft pink is perfect for this time of year and I find that it just stays on your cheeks giving you a nice natural flush of pink all day.
For all you oily lid girls waterproof mascara is a must. It does take longer to take off but in the summer if you are scared of tearing up or your make up melting this is a must. Perfect for beach days or jsut a regular day. I have the
Lancome Hypnose Drama in waterproof but you can always get your favourite mascara in the waterproof edition. I do know they can vary in formula but it is a good place to start if you have never tried a waterproof mascara before.
On the lips a matte formula never fails me. I wear them all year around (In fact I wear most of these all year around) my favourite for the summer is
MAC's relentlessly Red which is a nice coral shade. It is new to my collection and one I have been getting use to wearing. The matte formulas from MAC are incredibly long lasting and they don't melt in your handbag as easily as others so you can carry it around with you for any touch ups you may need.
Those are my genuine go to products when I want my make up to last a long time. I find they work really well for me and I don't have to worry too much about looking like a melting mess during the summer.
