Happy Friday my loves, It has come to my attention lately that Olive Oil has multiple uses in the beauty oil. I was aware of the majority of the benefits such as using it as a moisturiser but there were others that I didn't know about.
I was intrigued and started doing some research. I found a few uses of this supposedly multi purpose oil and decided to give some of them a go and report back to you.
Olive Oil and as a deep make up brush cleaner
This is the use I was most intrigued by. Fleur De Force mentioned it and ever since I wondered if it would work. You use the olive oil as a deep cleanser before you clean your brushes with baby shampoo. It literally break your make up to a tea. I poured some olive oil in a small bowl then would dip my brushes in them before washing the oil off with water. The oil doesn't ruin your brushes and is perfect for your bigger brushes and you can see a huge difference when cleaning the brushes. After that I washed them with Baby Shampoo as I would normally and voila you have soft and conditioned make up brushes. It doesn't take a long time and if you are lazy when it comes to cleaning your brushes this is something you can. The whole process took just 10 minutes for me but it depends on how many brushes and the size of brushes too.
Olive Oil as a foot cream
I will admit I haven't really done this yet but this is going to be a deep weekend treatment for my feet on the weekends. Before bed massage Olive Oil in to your feet then wear socks so it doesn't go all over your bed. Let the oil absorb in to your skin and you will be left with soft and supple skin.
Olive Oil as a nail and cuticle treatment
Again, I was interested in this as anything to prevent dry skin is a plus for me. I used a cotton pad put a small amount of Olive Oil on it and massage it on the cuticles. You would think it would smell, get messy and uncomfortable and it really isn't. I could do this before I settle down to watch some TV or just before bed and it would not bother me at all.
Olive Oil as a dressing
I saved this for last because it is the most 'well duh' use of Olive Oil but I wanted to add it in there because eating right has a great effect on our bodies on the inside as well on the outside. Replacing this as a salad dressing or in other forms of cooking helps you reap the benefits of the good fats and essential vitamins that the oil contains.
There are of course many other uses for Olive Oil in the beauty world but these are the few I did not know much about and wanted to try it out. I hope you found this post interesting and let me know if Olive Oil
