Happy Friday lovelies, I hope you're all having a great long weekend. I thought I would share an food post with you all today.
Hummus is one of my favourite things to eat. I have it on toast, with some cucumbers it is just really light and comes in many different flavours. It is great for this time of year when you may be a bit going to a few picnics, BBQ's or family get togethers. It goes well with so many things. Its healthy and nutritious so a win win for everyone.
The recipe here is a standard original hummus so if you are new to hummus or just want to try making it at home this is a good one to start with.
What you need:
1 Can of Chick Peas
2 Tablespoons Tahini Paste
3 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
2-3 Tablespoons of Olive Oil
2-3 Tablespoons Water
Salt - Add to taste
Method
Drain the Chickpeas then mix in a food mixer
Once mixed add all the other ingredients in the mixer and mix some more.
and voila all done. (It really is as easy as that)
I made it for the first time this week and I am excited to use it. I store it in a air tight container and put it in the fridge so should last a good couple of weeks. If you want something with more of a kick to it add red pepper and chilli flakes to the mix or for something sweet add honey. There are so many things that go well with this basic hummus you can experiment.
Let me know what you think.
