Skincare Sunday - My skincare journey 2013

Happy Sunday lovelies, As 2013 is coming to an end (far too early for my liking) I thought for this skincare Sunday I would do something slightly different.

2013 has been the year of skincare for me. I invested more in to my skincare and listened to it a lot more than previously. Because of that, I thought, I would share with you what I have learnt and the bits of information I will be taking with me in too 2014.

This year my skin went from oily to combination to becoming more dry and normal. Your skin changes every 10 years so don't worry if this happens. It does mean I have had to look after it differently.

Use a cleansing balm - Pre 2013 I just used a basic cleanser. I didn't pay much attention to whether it was a gel or milk cleanser. I used my first cleansing balm this year and fell in love. My skin lapped it up so this is definitely something I will be taking forward with me.

Invest in an eye cream - Being 22 years old I did not think I would need an eye cream but I could not have been more wrong. I decided to give Origins Ginzing eye cream and have never looked back since.

Everyone needs a serum - I have found out what a difference using a serum can make on your face especially if you have my skin type. My skin can become dry overnight so a serum over my moisturiser has made a world of a difference.

Listen to Caroline Hirrons - Why might you ask? because this woman knows her stuff! I cannot believe I only discovered her blog this time last year. It has been a must read ever since!

Ingredients are important - I knew it was important to know what you are putting on your skin but I became even more interested in how to look after my skin this year from reading about silicones, reading the back of bottles in boots to knowing what to eat and drink to boost the quality of my skin.

Overall I have become a lot more of a skincare junkie than I have before and I can only see this growing in 2014.

What have you learnt about your skin in 2014?

Lots of love
