Happy Sunday - When I talk about skincare I talk about what I do on my face. I talk about moisturisers and face masks. One thing I do not touch upon is looking after the skin on your body. The truth is I probably take care of it more than I do.
The first thing I did is look at what I use in the shower. I will do an updated 'what's in my shower post if any of you are interested' but I realised I didn't use a scrub. The skin on your body gets dry really easily especially if you are like me and pretty lazy with moisturising.
I've been using body scrubs for most of the year now and it has helped me a lot. My skin feels moisturised and smooth for a lot longer. If I haven't used it I would notice a difference. The one I am using at the moment is The Breakfast Scrub from Soap & Glory. Their line of body scrubs have been talked about tremendous amount in the beauty world and there is a reason why. They work and smell absolutely stunning. If you want to know more about the scrub a review is coming up this week.
Why is it important? It is the same reason it is important your face. If you have dry skin just applying moisturiser does not solve the problem. If your skin flakes when it dries (sounds horrible right?) moisturiser just masks this so when the area becomes dry again the flakes reappear. Exfoliating removes the flaky skin replacing it with a new soft layer of skin.
There are so many body scrubs out there in a variety of price ranges so there is something for all budgets and skin types.
Here are a few I would suggest to look in too:
Soap & Glory Breakfast Scrub
Weleda Body Scrub (Smell this before purchasing though especially if you particular about scents.)
Champney's citrus body scrub
I hope you guys find this useful. Have a lovely day.
