Food Friday - Neal's Yard Healing food book review

Hello my loves, it is friday! hope you all have something lovely planned for the weekend. You may remember me mention a certain book. This has been on my wish list of the longest time! I finally got my hands on it during the Bolton food & drink festival as it was on sale. (What more incentive did I need?!)

Before I go in to it I just want to highlight this is not a 'diet' book if you want a book about being fat free then please look away. I will never advocate such a book. This book instead helps us understand out bodies and how to give it the nutrition it needs to do our day to day activities.

The book is very informative and easy to understand. If you are new to food & nutrition with the amount of information out there it can be slightly daunting. This book is a good place to start.

It is spit in to 3 sections.

SECTION ONE - Specific ingredients - the book dedicates a page to each food such as Apples or Butter explaining not only the nutrients but how to incorporate them in to your meals.

SECTION TWO - A day of - this section is where you have meals in a day to cater for a certain need. Beauty addicts this is great as there is a day for radiance. There is also a day of woman's health. The pictures also show why the ingredients cater to that specific day.

SECTION THREE - Recipes - The end of the book is filled with delicious meals which I cannot wait to try.

If you feel like you need more energy, want to be generally healthy this book is for you. It is not a diet book, there is no mention of the word 'calories'. What sets this book apart from most articles/ books I have read is the simplicity of it. The way it is laid out compared to information you can elsewhere makes it so much more easier to understand and read. Even if you are just slightly interested in nutrition you will find this an enjoyable read.

Personally I stick to the 80 - 20 rule if and when I can. I have also been ill recently, and need to look after myself a little bit more, this book is a good way to do that.

Lots of love
