Make up Monday - choosing a base

Welcome to another week lovelies. I hope it treats you well.

When if comes to choosing a base being a foundation or a tinted moisturiser it can seem a bit daunting.

There are many options out there and as it is going on your face to want to make sure it is the right product for you.

Personally, I would advise anyone who can get away with it to only foundation if it is necessary.

I know not everyone is comfortable with that though so here is my break down of foundation.

Heavy - Medium coverage - these types of foundations are those with blemish prime skin or for those working in the media and needed extra flawless finish. In my experience they can feel quite heavy. A good foundation with this level of coverage would be Elizabeth Arden's double wear foundation.

Medium to light coverage - this is more of sheer coverage foundation. You can simply just apply it for evening the skin tone or you can build it up for more of a flawless finish. NARS sheer glow can fall in to this category. It is light but the coverage is great. It doesn't feel too heavy on the skin either.

Light coverage - This is my level of coverage on a daily basis and where you would put most tinted moisturisers and BB creams. The one I use is by NARS. It's light I texture, evens out my skin one very well and is long wearing.

Overall when choosing foundation, take your time. It can be easy to buy the wrong shade or formula in a rush. Also, try testers and ask for samples if you are unsure about a shade or consistency before you buy it.

I hope this helps some of you.

Best Wishes
