Food Friday - Dried Fruit

Happy Friday beautifuls. I hope you all have a fabulous weekend.

If you have been reading my blog for a while you will know that I love snacking on fruit. Dried or fresh but dried a lot more often.

I find them so handy to have on me on the go. I can either buy a snack pack (which costs from as little as 30p in come places) or fill a sandwich bag. I  basically eat them the way a kid eat sweets.

The reason I wanted to do this post is to dispel the myth people about dried fruit. A lot of people they are not good for you and this is not the case at all. I get asked questions about  it so I thought I would share what I know. (bare in mind that I am no expert)

Most nutritionist will say dried fruits are good to eat. They carry all the minerals and some of the vitamins. They also count as part of your 5 a day too.

Yes, there are some which are full of manufactured preservatives but all you have to do is read the labels. Most of the best ones only have up to three ingredients.

My favourites are Craisins, Urban Fruits and Yu Fruit chews. You can get all of these from your normal supermarkets. Holland and Barrets also sell them too.

Something else I found is that the ones that are more natural say part of your 5 a day on the packet so look out for that.

I genuinely eat them all the time it is a bit of a addiction. I usually always have a packet in my bag if I am going to be out for a very long time so I thought I would share it with you.

Hope this helps.

Are you a dry fruit kind of girl?

Lots of love
