So last week I talked about the importance of drinking water. This week I am going to tell you something that could also make a huge difference to your skin if you don't do it already.
Moisterising your body can seem like a chore to some people and it sometimes get side stepped and over looked. For something that only adds 5 mins to your after bath routine, it can have amazing affects for your skin.
I have to admit, this is something I had to learn myself so I know how you all feel. These days, I look forward to using my body butter after a nice warm shower.
Moisterising is very important to keep your skin soft because during the day especially in this sharp cold we have at the moment (how cold is it in the UK right now?!) The best time to moisturise your skin is after the shower as your skin is usually at it's driest when you come out of the warm water.
I personally use body butter because it is thicker and sinks in to your skin beautifully. I use the one by Soap and Glory but any you like is good.
A good tip is take your time picking out a good moisturiser or body butter. Make sure you like how it feels on your skin. give them a sniff too as you want to smell nice! This will entice you to you actually look forward to using it
Make sure you concentrate on the driest places on our skin. Personally these are my elbows, behind my knees and the bottoms of my feet. My trick with this is to save these places for moisturising last and then wrapping up straight afterwards.
When I moisturise the bottom of my feet I quickly put on my socks. This lets my feet absorb the moister from the body butter and stops it from getting dry.
Give yourself some R and R time tonight and try it out :)
What are your favourite moisterisers or body butters to use? let me know!
Lots of love
