If you know me personally, or follow me on twitter you would know I like watching a lot of sport. It started because it was something I would do with my family especially my dad. Growing up I was always playing around with the football or playing power rangers. For as long as I can remember I have supported Liverpool FC and I did Karate for 9 years. So you could say I grew up with sports?!
Don't get me wrong, there are sports I don't watch such as cricket (which I find boring) but if any of you watched this years Olympics (and if you haven't that's cool, although you missed some historic moments) it would be easy to see why I like sports. It is watching people do something they feel proud of and something they will remember for the rest of their lives. Day after day over the last two weeks personal best were beaten, medals were won even competing in the games was something that those athletes from poorer countries were proud of doing. For some countries they got their first gold medals. Being a part of that and being able to watch that happen, knowing that that person's life has now changed...It is incredible.
I got emotional watching Jess Enis and Mo Farah's medal ceremony. I saw footage of the crowds across the country coming together and cheering. Sports, even just watching it can bring different people from all across the country, the world together. That ladies and gentleman is why I love sport.
Do you like watching sports? if you which ones? comment below and let me know.Labels: Life, Sports
