This month Vogue has made in what my view, is a significant change in the fashion industry. For years ,fashion magazines everywhere and media have been put under scrutiny for casting really really unrealistic models. This means they have blamed put on them for young girls across the world increasingly turning to eating disorders like anorexia and bulimia. What Vogue across the world are coming together in a fashion magazine first. They are proposing to start casting models which are deemed healthy and basically take responsibility in promoting healthy images and bodies.
I am so happy about them doing this. I don't think people realise how serious this issue can actually be, i know i didn't really till a couple of months ago till i heard a girl who couldn't be older than 6/7 mention the word skinny and other incidences like this. Now, i don't know about you but i didn't even know the word skinny at that age so it scared me a little. Hopefully, other fashion magazines will follow suit in the future. After all Vogue is the biggest fashion magazine across the world, if they can do this so can others. It is a small but a very significant step in the right direction.
